Sunbathing sparrows

The sparrows had a lovely afternoon sat in the suntrap, just by the blossom. A sturk wanted to see what was going on, but got bored of the tranquility and went to find someone to squabble with.

Baby robin

Aren't the baby robins ever so cute?

"What you lookin' at?"

I thought this was a shot with something in it's mouth, but it's the beak and looks rather strange.

Rainbow Cloud

I saw a most amazing sight today. As I was driving to work this afternoon there was what I would call a cloud rainbow. I watched it for a good 5 minutes and took a pic when I got to work on my camera phone. I was a bit at the wrong angle and it was starting to go by then. To see it (especially through my sunglasses) was really special. Apparently in this part of the world they are extremely rare and I'll never see one again.

I cropped to the area

And enhanced it.

Introducing the Woodlets

Mum and dad brought THREE babies to the garde!!!! :)

These two are looking at him down there
And gossiping about him, I'm sure.
"ooo, Mavis, I don't like what he's wearing"
"oh"

Synchronised Bullfinches

It's almost as if one does one thing and the other copies :)

Scruffy Blackbird and Gargling Sturk

This blackbird looks a bit rough

In fact, I think he's put his missus' bloomers on.
How many sturklets ?????????????
gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargle
gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargle

Scrapping Sturks

The sturks were a bit scrappy today

Sparrows Frolicking in the Buttercups

I think the sparrows were on a day trip out to the buttercup field (aka my unmown garden). Some sturks were along with their mates.

Bath Time for Sturks

There's only room for about 4. Which gets a bit tense when there's 30 of them all wanting a go.

Babies and big birds

I've had some babies in the garden.

A baby collared dove
Some baby greenfinches
A baby goldfinch (don't they look like they have forgotten to put their glasses on?
This jackdaw looks like he's upset the sturklet
And I've seen a baby woodie, but not snapped him yet.
